website completed

I have finished the website, I have included some access keys, and have the print style sheet included. Overall I am pleased with the site, especially considering it was built completely through hand-coding.

website in different browsers

Here are some screenshots of the index page in different browsers:

Firefox:

Internet Explorer:

Google Chrome:

Firefox and Chrome were fine, but Internet Explorer shifted all the content to the left hand side of the page, so I will have to create a seperate style sheet for IE users to make it appear centrally.

how the site looks

Here are some screenshots of the website.

using html

After using the basic HTML tags throughout school and college I have found it relatively easy to apply the basic formatting to the website. However CSS is relatively new to me, especially as we have to completely hand-write it, but I am quietly confident I won't come across major difficulties...

new project - design for the web

We have begun a new project. For this we will be creating a web site for a client chosen for us, mine is for Water Conservation. We will be coding the website entirely by hand, using HTML and applying CSS styles, because we are doing it by hand we are not allowed to use Dreamweaver.

I will be using Text Wrangler at the college and Notepad++ at home.

project progress

Since it has been the Christmas holidays, I have forgotten to update the blog. Since the last update I have completed all parts of the project, apart from the sketchbook which needs updating.
